“Jenk West has been a part of our lives since my son was in pre-k to 2nd. We are going to miss everyone at JW! Our family is moving out of state, but plan to be back next year. The school has great Academics & Extracurricular activities. Teachers, volunteers & counslers are always there to help the student. Safety is a plus for me and Jenks Schools is excellent for that! Parking is a problem but I'm sure JW will solve that issue soon. I give JWE a 10+ rating, you won't be dissappointed.”

“As the parent of a 2nd grader and a 7th grader (West Elem alum), I have nothing but high opinions of JWE. The other two elementaries in the Jenks Distrist (Southeast JSE or East JEE) also grade well, I just don't have personal experience with them. JWE is growing. They have added on a new K bldg this fall and no more than two grades are in a building. The campus is huge and can be daunting, but rest assured there are tons of volunteers who are at the school each day to help bus riders, car riders and after care students alike. Security is tantamount. Each building has a check-in kiosk that you must provide a valid DL check for. Each volunteer must be wearing a check in badge, including photo, that was printed by the kiosk-therwise nobody gets past. We love West - West is Best!”

“I have been interning at Jenks West. I chose this school because I attended it as a young child. Even as a child I loved the school. Now, as an educator, I am able to see first hand the types of training the teachers receive, the passion the teachers have, and the relationships that are built between the students and teachers. Parent involvment is a major factor to the success of any student. Jenks West recognizes that and impliments it to the fullest extent possible. The site principal, Suzanne Lair, was my 5th grade Language Arts teacher, and she knows her stuff. As do every other teacher I have observed.”

“I have been very impressed with Jenks West Elem. I also agree that there are wonderful opportunities for parental involvement and volunteering. They are constantly asking for help from parents. I often volunteer every week. I am very impressed with all the teachers and how well they can handle so many students at once. There is a parking issue but where isn't there when you have 1200+ plus people leaving at the same time. Mrs. Obermiller is a wonderful kindergarten teacher and Ms. Brown in the office is very friendly as well. I have been invited several times to volunteer or just sit in and observe the class. When we moved this year we only looked in the Jenks West district because we love the school so much. I have been happy with all the teachers I have worked with and if there is ever an issue it is addressed immediately.”

“great academics and extracurricular activities parent involvement was present maybe a little more would have helped .I found that the classes were large , although the teacher did manage to keep up and our student was not lost in the shuffle. The school had a great outdoor play area and provided the children with lots of room the jenks school system is known for its educational programs ,they also provided for after school care and it provided our student with consistency in regards to homework ,and other activities. The school system also has football for his age and he enjoyed it . I liked the school but the size of the classrooms were a little large . They were going to remove the 5th and 6th graders to a new school which was being built . If this is done this will more than likely decrease the strain on teachers and school”

“I have two children that have attended Jenks West for the past three years. My wife and I have been very impressed. Parent involvement is great. We have nothing but praise for the teachers. There's no place we'd rather send our children. We are sold on Jenks West. Gail Foster, Amber Kirk, Sarah Luttrell, and Michelle Harp are all excellent choices.”

“I do NOT agree that parents are not invited very often. This school has one of the best volunteer programs in all the schools we've been to. I was always welcome in each classroom my children were in. I always felt welcome to go in and speak with the principal as well. I do agree parking is an issue but at every school we have been at, in three different states, it has been an issue. This school is not perfect, but no school is. I think if you are a parent who wants to be involved and be able to have communication with teachers, this is a good environment for that.”

“Our school is very large and frankly parking is an issue. Parent invitations to visit the school must be coordinated carefully thus parents are not invited often.”

“I would rate our experience with this school as average. We did experience some wonderful teachers in Tracey Shaw, Dana Hilton and Ashley Williams. They are the best! The school has excellent parent participation, the best I've ever seen in a school.”
